The Story of Gray WoodGray Wood is a small town built by equestrians. Until about nine years ago most people in the town were middle aged with either no children, or children that had already moved out. That was until a young teacher and her equestrian based family decided to create an academy for fellow horseman. Thus Gray Wood Academy and Gray Wood Stables was born. Originally there was only four acres of land with two barns, two small school buildings, one coed dorm, and a small outdoor arena. Slowly more students began to flock to the school until they were able to expand to the size it is today. Four barns, five buildings, two dorms, and multiple arenas and trails. After the large success of GWA, a small college, Gray Wood College, was created for the students who wished to continue their education in the little town. Now a days applying to this academy can be a big deal. To get in you have to be smart and have at least a year of riding and handling ability. Besides the requirements there's the cost. It's an expensive place to be educated and with the expense of boarding and food things can be pretty costly. Every year the Academy gives out two Jamison Awards that entitles a year of free education at the academy. The only cost to you and your family if you win this award is board and food costs. So what do you think? Are you up to the challenge? Can you get into GWA or even be given the Jamison Award?
