Everything was finally green.
It was nearing mid-Spring. Almost the end of the school year. And that would be when freshmen turned into sophmores and seniors left off to become freshmen again. Carrie sighed. Freshman year had been wonderful, actually. She'd gotten so many friends, good grades, good memories, and Edward... as she thought that a small stab in the stomach reminded her that he was no longer with her. They'd seperated. No more relationship. She still loved him at least a little bit, though, and she was glad she was past the stage where she would always get tears in her eyes at the thought. Her hazel eyes traveled to Lilly. She had seemed mad and disappointed as she had realized the scent of Edward on Carrie was so faint. Now she was sniffing around anxious, Carrie's matchmaking dog. Carrie hadn't the faintest clue that Lilly was attempting to find another Edward.
Lilly's silky fur was as healthy as ever and her different color eyes were shining. One brown, one light blue. Carrie smiled at the dog. Her smile was white and small, but so adorable. Her bright hazel eyes were the most noticeable thing about her, if you could get past her cute blush that popped up almost all the time. Her straight blond hair had been dyed. It was now brown. A really pretty brunette actually. In a way, she did it because the blond reminded her too much of her pictures with Edward for awhile. Now she just kept it brunette because she didn't feel like changing back. On this day, it was slightly curly. Her black t-shirt had a silver jakcet with black checkers over it. Her jeans were navy blue and skinnies. They fit her well. Let's just say that Nancy had changed up her wardrobe some. Her silver Chuck Taylors were on her feet, a little new, but the dirt spots showing that they had been used before.
As Carrie walked, she sighed and watched the ground. Lilly's brown and blue eyes stayed on the ground, her nose up against the dirt, sniffing anxiously as she pulled Carrie. A scent came to her nose and she stood up and looked to were it led. Her tongue lolled out and a doggish smile formed on her face. She looked up to Carrie's confused face as she tried to pull Lilly back onto the trail. Lilly whimpered once with excitment and shot off in a run on the scent trail. She felt Carrie's arm being jerked on the end of the leash before she let go and Lilly ran faster. Her legs pumped and she snapped a twig on her way towards the scent. As she burst out from the cover of the trees and bushes, she barked once at the guy and ran up to him and started jumping before she barked a few times and started sniffing his pants and shoes.
Carrie gasped as her arm was jerked with the leash and she let go of it and winced. Ow. She looked to where Lilly went, pausing for a moment before running after her. "Lilly!" she called out once or twice as she followed her dog. She slowed to a jog when she heard her bark a few times as she came upon her and a guy. Panic hit her and she felt her cheeks burn as they blushed a pretty rosy red. So adorable on her young face. She stopped a few yards from the guy and Lilly and whistled softly to Lilly. Lilly's head shot up and looked to Carrie, tongue lolling out. She ran to Carrie and back to the guy and then to Carrie again, barking. A soft half-smile formed on Carrie's face as she bent down to snap the leash on Lilly's black collar. She looked to the guy Lilly had found and her blush burned a little more. "I'm sorry... Lilly's... a hyper dog," she said softly, but loud enough for him to hear. She was tense. She didn't know this guy, nor did she know if he was nice or not. It was...awkward, although he looked friendly.
