Blonde hair pulled back in a tight pony tail with bangs above her hazel eyes, silver Converse laced onto size 7 1/2 feet, light blue jeans clinging to her thighs, also clad with a black and white horizontally striped t-shirt with two-finger straps. Sparkling silver earrings hung from each ear in a loop fashion while a silver heart lockett hung from her neck with nothing inside, just yet. Carrie had always tried to dress simple, but it didn't seem simple to her for some reason. It always seemed a little bit above to her. Her hazel eyes always just popped out with whatever she was wearing, unless it was extremely bright, like hot pink or neon green. She didn't like people noticing her, and thank God they didn't... that often, anyway.
Her Converse padded the ground lightly as she walked down a street, looking for a certain store she'd seen on one of her walks with Lilly. As Carrie's bright hazel eyes looked inside windows at little botiques and read the signs of stores that everyone knew, she almost felt like she was back home, in a way. Those stores you would always see, such as Areopostal, Abercrombie & Fitch, Tilly's, Barns N' Noble-- wait! Carrie stopped, almost having passed the store she'd had her eyes open for. Her gaze looked to her right at the bookstore and she felt relieved that she finally found it. A smiled played with the corners of her lips, but she held it back as she walked into the store, almost jumping at the sound of the bell above her head. Why the hell would someone put a bell in a bookstore? Same thing with libraries! What was wrong with people?
Carrie's feet paused at a spot where she was sure she wouldn't be in the way of anyone coming in. Her gaze searched around, wondering what to get next. She'd heard that Stephenie Meyer's The Host was good, but she wasn't sure. She'd also heard of a children's series, Warriors by Erin Hunter, that was good, even if it wasn't for teenagers or whatever. She began to walk that way before pausing again when she remembered a book she had been dying to read again (for the fifth time honestly) but couldn't find at her cousin's house here. Pride & Prejudice. A grin pulled at the corners of her lips as she remembered exactly where it should be.
Her feet guided her over to Romance. Fictional Romance. It's original genre was "comedy of manners" but she was sure they didn't have a second in Barns N Noble for that. As she turned swiftly into one of the aisles, her eyes looked to the right first and her knees bent her down to a crouch. Her eyes scanned titles, interest glittering as a few of them popped out to her. A smile softly showed on her face when she found Pride & Prejudice, hardcover, and she picked it up. She stood up, her hair in the pony tail brushing over the nape of her neck for a second. She flipped the book around and started reading the summary, refreshing her mind on what she'd read five times already. It was such a great book...
